Leon F. Hirzel IV earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Florida State University, majoring in Applied Economics and minoring in Business. He then graduated in the top of his law school class at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center, where he earned a juris doctorate degree and received an honor for his pro bono work.
During law school, Leon served as President of the Hispanic Law Student Association, Co-Chairman of the Association of Business Law Students, and the Lead Technical Editor of the ILSA Journal of International & Comparative Law. He was a member of the Nova Trial Association and competed in a national moot court competition. Throughout law school, Leon worked as a LexisNexis Research Specialist, assisting fellow students with their research needs and serving as a liaison between LexisNexis and the school's students, faculty, and staff. He also worked with the Florida Bar, Business Law Section on revising Florida Statute, Chapter 607. Because of his outstanding achievements, he was asked by a law professor to be a teaching assistant. Leon further participated in the Dean's Task Force, a group of student leaders chosen to discuss current issues in the law school.
Prior to joining the firm as an associate, Leon gained valuable experience clerking for a major franchise corporation, where he handled various issues relating to franchise, vendor, and health club law. Leon's practice focuses on franchise and commercial litigation, as well as post-judgment collection.
