I appreciate and am thankful for the kind and complimentary words received from Ed Shanahan, Executive Director of the Dunkin’ Donuts Independent Franchise Owners Association (DDIFO), after my having given a speech at the DDIFO National Conference in Las Vegas, NV on September 22nd, 2015. The presentation was on the legal implications of the recent National Labor Relations Board decisions on Joint Employer Status & Liability which may apply and impact franchisors, franchisees and franchising in general. I have very strong convictions as to my views as explained in my presentation. The difference in the votes taken of the audience, as to the audience’s impression of the impact that the NLRB decision would have on franchising, franchisors and franchisees, before and after my speech, was very telling as to the impact the speech had on them. The end of speech vote demonstrated that none of the franchisees present believed that the NLRB decisions would be bad or will negatively impact franchising, franchisors and franchisees. Thanks again to the DDIFO organization for having invited me to speak and educate the franchisees. It was truly a pleasure.
